Gary Richter, Advisory Services Director, was quoted in the Financial Executive article "Realities Drive Change in Health Care Delivery."
In the article, Mr. Richter said, "Within Medicare, the federal government wants coordination of care – that's the carrot in the ACO model."
Additionally, Mr. Richter said, "CMS wants providers in an area to work together, provide more preventive services and when someone needs high-cost services that home health, nursing facilities and hospitals work together to get people healthier quicker."
Finally, MR. Richter proposed the following question: "Is doing nothing going to be better in the long run not only for the government? Government can't get out of the health care business when so many people are impoverished. How reform shapes the delivery of care comes down to political philosophy, but doing nothing is not an option."
