Richard Cooke CPA*

Richard L. Cooke is an Assurance Services Partner based in the Firm’s Long Island office and is a member of its National High Technology Industry group. He specializes in providing audit, quarterly review and merger and acquisition services to a diverse client base that spans several industries and includes closely-held and publicly-traded entities.

With an in-depth knowledge of SEC reporting processes, Mr. Cooke is often engaged by companies to assist with complex GAAP issues such as revenue recognition, debt and equity financing and derivative transactions. He provides clients with expert guidance through the compliance process ensuring they stay compliant with SEC regulations while meeting timely financial filings. In addition, Mr. Cooke has successfully assisted clients with completing initial public offerings, reverse mergers and other business acquisitions.

Mr. Cooke’s comprehensive audit, due diligence and business consulting knowledge combined with his more than 20 years experience mutually benefits Marcum and its clients. He serves as a member of the Firm’s Internal Audit Efficiency and Employee Benefit Plans Efficiency committees.

Prior to joining the Firm in 1997, Mr. Cooke spent four years at a mid-sized, New York City-based regional accounting firm and two years with a small, Long Island-based practice.
